About Me!
Welcome, and thank you for taking a moment to learn more about me and my work.

Gretchen McClelland, LMHC, MHP
Life can feel overwhelming, isolating, or uncertain at times—and you don’t have to navigate it alone. With over 20 years of experience in healthcare and clinical settings, I provide a safe, supportive, and compassionate space where your story is honored, your voice is heard, and your cultural background is respected. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor who works with individuals ages 15 and older, supporting clients from diverse backgrounds and life experiences.
Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working in private practice, outpatient programs, behavioral health organizations, crisis settings, and behavioral health hospitals. These experiences have shaped a compassionate, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive approach to care. I am deeply passionate about helping clients feel empowered, understood, and equipped with the tools they need to grow, heal, and find balance.
My therapeutic approach is holistic, inclusive, strength-based, person-centered, and goal-oriented. I support individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, chronic mental health challenges, interpersonal relationships, and life transitions. I also assess for ADHD in teens and adults and provide psycho-education that celebrates how neurodivergent brains function beautifully and differently.
Building trust and rapport is the foundation of my work. I believe meaningful change happens when clients feel safe, accepted, and supported. Therapy is a collaborative journey where we create individualized goals and treatment plans aligned with your unique strengths, challenges, and hopes for growth. I integrate education, practical tools, and therapeutic modalities to help you better understand the mind-body connection, regulate your nervous system, and develop healthy, sustainable coping strategies.
I believe small steps can lead to meaningful transformation, and it is an honor to walk alongside you as you move toward a more connected, hopeful, and fulfilling life. I offer both in-person sessions in Puyallup and telehealth services, providing flexible options to meet your needs. Outside of my work, I love living in the Pacific Northwest and enjoy traveling and learning from different cultures and traditions.
